Geography graduate part of the England Netball team who beat Australia to seal a historic first series win.
Serena Guthrie, who graduated from Bath Spa with a BSc Geography degree in 2011, was part of the starting line up in the team beat world number one side Australia by 51-49 at Wembley Arena on Wednesday.
In this three Test series against Australia, the team made history by clinching the series after winning the second Test against the much-fancied visitors. It followed a 58-53 win in first Test - which was only the third time England had beaten Australia.
Team Captain Pamela Cookey said: “It's amazing. The girls really put in a performance tonight. I'm so proud of them.”
Victory at Wembley gave the hosts a 2-0 lead in the three-match series. England are ranked third in the world and will play their final game against 10-time world champions Australia at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham on Saturday.
After the test series, Serena will return to Bath to join up with the rest of her Team Bath team-mates for the 2013 Superleague season.
Team Bath get their Superleague campaign underway with a home fixture against Celtic Dragons at the University of Bath Sports Training Village on Thursday 7 February.
