Adapt to Exist - IMO Students Exhibit at BRSLI

Feb 8 2013 11:44 AM

The first year group ever to graduate from the new course BA Hons Three Dimensional
Design [Idea Material Object] at Bath School of Art and Design Present an exhibition
exploring how the natural process of evolution can be applied to design the objects
around us.

The project has been led by French, London based designer Fabien Cappello with the
six students; Dan Clements, Daniel Rous, Emily Cropton, Shane Toomey, Sula Bailie and
Rosalind Bryan, each bringing a unique response.

The exhibition features finished works along side models and prototypes, which form
the evolutionary steps of the projects. Works include an intuitive table lamp where the
electricity travels along the structure to eliminate wires and a modular outdoor
furniture collection for encouraging conversation and collaboration for the Art
School’s campus at Sion Hill.

The exhibition is taking place at the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institute, an
educational charity with the purpose of promoting literary, scientific and artistic
developments.

The Show will be open to the public (10am -4pm) from Thursday 21st until Monday 25th
February (closed on Sunday). Everyone is welcome to the opening evening on Thursday
at 7pm where there will be drinks and an opportunity to meet the designers.
