BSU History/Downside Abbey Archive and Library Partnership
Jan 31 2013 4:25 PM
The department of History is pleased to announce the formal partnership with Downside Abbey Library and Archive. As well as providing placements for some 15 students, the partnership will provide the opportunity for collaborative PhDs; joint teaching projects; conferences and joint publications. Level 5 and 6 History students are currently working to digitise and catalogue important parts of the overall collection. In the near future we hope to include in the partnership staff and students from English, Studies of Religions; Music and Publishing.
Dr Bobby Anderson, BSU leader in the partnership said, ‘Our many project placements with Downside Abbey have continued to expand over the years, so it is fitting that we are now working closer together to further develop our relationship.’
As part of the new partnership a meeting for interested staff from both organisations will take place on a regular basis to share new projects and propose ideas for future collaboration and partnership working. The date of the first meeting will be advertised shortly.
