Bill Hughes, Professor of Gothic Studies in School of Humanities and Cultural Industries has celebrated the new year with the publication of two significant reference works in the field of Gothic Studies, both published in January 2013. The first of these, the two-volume Encylopedia of the Gothic for Blackwell (http://dmmsclick.wiley.com/share.asp?m=dmvwki4d4c1gr5bx0fyf) was co edited with David Punter (University of Bristol). The second, the Historical Dictionary of the Gothic, for the US academic publisher Scarecrow Press (https://rowman.com/ISBN/9780810874787), is a single-author reference work of 130,000 words.
