Controlled natures: aesthetics, disorder and the urban park

In December 2012 the Communities and Social Identities research group welcomed Dr Samuel Kirwan. Dr Kirwan's introduction to the social theory of Jacques Rancière was presented through a socio-historical stroll around the verdant lawns and dangerous shadows of the urban park. The paper was based on his PhD thesis, recently awarded by the University of Bristol.
