How You Can Help Others

We really encourage alumni to keep in contact with the university both to benefit from the Alumni Association but also to give something back.  We have a number of opportunities to help you stay involved with university life, support current students and access recent graduate talent.  If you feel that you can help in any of the following ways or if you feel you can help the university and it's students or alumni in a different way then let us know.

Offer a Student Work Placement

Students greatly benefit from undertaking placements or internships as part of their study.  These can range from two-week placements to those spanning several months on a full or part time basis.  We have a Placements Officer to broker and support the needs of those involved for a mutually beneficial experience.

Speak to Current Students About Your Career

If you would be happy to come back to BSU to talk to students either in a lecture period or a smaller workshop about your career and the advice you would give to graduates entering the world of work then we'd love to hear from you.  We don't have a formal calendar of events but if you contact us to express an interest we will let our relevant academic colleagues know and can then arrange a time to suit you.  It's so valuable for current students to hear from graduates who have studied at BSU and it really inspires them with confidence, plus real life experience and advice from someone who has gone through a similar process is so valuable at this crucial time in their lives.

Meet Your Recruitment Needs and Save Yourself Money

Our in house student recruitment service - Bath Spa University Job Shop - has thousands of high quality students on their books wishing to undertake part-time work during their studies.  This FREE service will promote your vacancies directly to students, targeting your recruitment needs whilst cutting recruitment advertising costs.  We also offer free advertising to final year students and graduates.

Promote Your Company Directly to BSU Students

We have extended the opportunities for businesses and students to meet, from networking events and dedicated presentations on graduate opportunities to workshops looking at different employment sectors and industry insights.

Offer Your Professional Service or Product to Alumni

If you have a service or product to offer to other BSU alumni then contact the Development and Alumni Relations Office as we may be able to help you to advertise this through these alumni web-pages.  Such services normally include a discount to fellow alumni.
