Travel by Bus

Bath and Corsham benefit from excellent public transport infrastructure within both the population centres and through to the wider geographical areas of Wiltshire, Somerset and Bristol.

Bus Services

Bath City Centre > Newton Park (15, 15a)

15 (First Bus: Timetable) – every 15 mins during term time
Bath City Centre to Newton Park, via Newbridge Rd, Windsor Bridge (for Charlton Court/Waterside Court), Lower Bristol Rd (convenient for Oldfield Park) and Dorchester Rd


15A (First Bus : Timetable) – once an hour during term time
Lower Oldfield Park to Newton Park, via Newbridge Road

Bus Station Departure Changes

Between 1st and 31st August 2015, the number 15 will not depart from bay 15 in the Bath Bus Station.  Instead, it will depart from bus stop BI outside on Dorchester Street.

Coronation Avenue - Temporary Closure

Coronation Avenue is due to be closed for essential repairs from 2nd June for 10 Days.

The route in green will be the route the bus will take whilst Coronation Avenue is closed.

Newton Park > Sion Hill (Free Inter-site Shuttle - Runs Until 19 June)

This is a free bus service running between Newton Park and Sion Hill, with stops at Twerton Fork and Windsor Villas.

Bath City Centre > Newton Park (The Globe) > Bristol (38, 39, X39)

38, 39 & X39 (First Bus : Timetable)
Bath to Bristol, via Newbridge, Saltford and Brislington
The nearest stop to Newton Park is the Globe roundabout. From there it’s a 20 minute walk up the University driveway or you can catch the 15 or 15A without needing to buy another ticket – just present your 38, 39 or X39 ticket to the driver.

20A – Anti-clockwise (Wessex Connect : Timetable)
Bath City Centre to Culverhay and Southdown Schools, via RUH, Oldfield Park, Twerton, Whiteway and the University of Bath

10 (First Bus: Timetable)
Bath City Centre circular, via Coronation Ave, Southdown Road and Mount Road.
The 10 stops near Southdown School and just a short walk from the Bath Community Academy.

Bath City Centre > Corsham > Chippenham (231, X31)

231 (First Bus: Timetable)
Bath City Centre to Chippenham, via Corsham.
The closest stop to Corsham Court is Newlands Rd and from there it is just a short walk to the mansion house.

First Bus Tickets & Passes

Bath Spa University and the Students’ Union are agents for First Bus and we can therefore sell Bath Student, Bristol Outer Zone Student and West of England Zone passes. One of the most popular passes is the season ticket which gives you unlimited travel on any First Bus services in Bath.

If you are a University student, you may be entitled to some special Bath Spa discounts. Information about these discounts is available on the Hub, Student Portal , Students’ Union shop and office, Main House reception and Sion Hill finance office.

Buy your Bus Ticket Online!

Go to the Hub to buy your bus pass. Tickets can then be collected from the reception at Newton Park or delivered free for collection at Sion Hill and Corsham Court.

National Express coaches travel to Bath and Chippenham (for Corsham) from many major cities in the UK. You can contact their ticket booking line on 08705 808080.

First Bus operate services into Bath and Chippenham from locations as far afield as Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire and Bristol.
