Quality and Standards

Bath Spa University is proud of the quality and standards of all its courses. Our system for making sure that we perform as we intend, and meet the needs of our students, our curriculum, and those who support us with public funds relies on internal procedures that operate on annual and periodic (usually six-yearly) cycles. We assure ourselves about the quality and standards of our programmes, and about the procedures and arrangements for quality assurance themselves, by asking our students, and by systems of peer review, involving internal judgements by staff, and external judgements by academics and professionals we invite to be external examiners, or participants in our periodic review processes.

BSU is also subject to periodic scrutiny by QAA (for its HEFCE funded programmes), Ofsted (for its TDA funded programmes).

The latest overall self-assessments we have made of ourselves are the Application for Research Degree Awarding Powers, and the Briefing Document (.pdf) produced for our QAA Institutional Audit in 2008.
