Current Scholarship:
I am Creative Director of a new festival. IlluminateBath will run in November 2010, and will light up the city of Bath with projections, performances and installations.
I am currently working as a Senior Research Fellow for a JISC funded project, Poetiks. This year long project involves creating a piece of software that will aid the teaching and learning of Poetry analysis.
I have a keen interest in experimental media and promote the exploration of designing for new devices using computers.
My major research is based on a collaborative project to develop real-time immersive environments based around the Jurassic Coast of Dorset. This collaboration is part of the Imaginalis Collective with senior researchers, Prof Jeremy Gardiner, from Birkbeck University (http://www.imaginalis.co.uk). The first outcome of this project is an exhibition at the Chelsea Art Museum, New York, March 5th - April 4th 2009. The title of the work Jurassic Light Years: Mupe Rocks indicates the location of the work. Jurassic Light Years aims to integrate and interpret the terrain and sub-terrain through visual interpretation of data through an autonomous interactive experience.
Having recently gain Arts Council funding, we are taking this project further with an exhibition in Poole, June 2010 - (http://www.lightyearsprojects.org).
With my student fellows, I have also launched an online Opportunities Notice Board.
