Personal Profile For Dr Mimi Thebo

ArtsWork Senior Teaching Fellow and Principal Lecturer: Creative. School of Humanities and Cultural Industries.

BA [University of Kansas], MA [Bath Spa University College], PhD [Bath Spa University].

Personal Statement:

I lecture on the BA in Creative Writing, the MA in Creative Writing and the MA in Writing for Young People and am the Senior Teaching Fellow for the Artswork BroadcastLab. I am passionately convinced of the value of my subject of Creative Writing, not only in terms of how it can help students improve their writing during the course, but also in how it can help them develop ethically and intellectually to become more capable individuals for the whole of their lives. I have a particular interest in how student creativity engages with the wider world and how Higher Education supports that engagement. This is informed by my own research as a widely published novelist for both children and adults.

In my role with Artswork (the CETL at Bath Spa University)we investigate the relationsips between Creativity, Technology and Employability.
