There's nothing like going to an Open Day to see for yourself what a university is really like. Open Days offer you the opportunity to find out more about a university's courses, see the campuses and facilities on offer, speak to students studying there, view student accommodation and explore the city you may find yourself living in.

What to expect

Generally our open days run from 9am-4pm; you're welcome to participate in as much or as little of the day as you wish. We'll send you a programme two weeks prior to the event.

  • Find out about your course

    You’ll be able to speak to the staff and students of the course you're thinking of studying. You can also attend a talk specific to the subject you're interested in. Some courses offer you the chance to take part in a workshop or visit specialist off-site facilities.

  • Campus tours

    Our student ambassadors will be on hand to offer you a guided tour. As current students, they can answer your questions about what being at Bath Spa University is like. Our Newton Park open days also have guided city coach tours which will allow you to explore the beautiful city of Bath.

  • Talks

    During the day there will be a series of talks that provide key information about accommodation, jobs, finance, fees and much more. Staff representing services such as finance, accommodation and student support will be available to answer any questions you may have relating to being a student at Bath Spa University.

  • Accommodation

    You’ll have the opportunity to find out more about the various accommodation options available to you, including our halls and independent housing.

  • Travel

    We've teamed up with Great Western Rail (GWR) to offer visitors to our Open Days and Applicant Visit Days a discounted ticket when you travel by train.

About applicant visit days

Applicant Visit Days are invitation only events open to applicants for subjects that don't require an audition or interview and are not taught at partner colleges. Applicant Visit Days take place between February and April.

Applicant Visit Days are by invitation only. Invites are sent to all those that have been offer a place to study at Bath Spa University (that don't require interview or audition) via the email applicants have previously given to UCAS. If you haven't received your invitation email, please check your junk mail folder, just in case it has ended up there, and if it's still missing please email

What to expect

Get Information

Get a greater understanding of the subject you have applied for, alongside attending general talks about Bath Spa, including information on accommodation, finance, studying here and our Students' Union.

Explore Newton Park Campus

You will be able to have a tour of the campus, led by our student ambassadors. You’ll be able to look around our library, teaching facilities and Students’ Union.

See Our Halls of Residences

You’ll have the chance to see inside some of our Halls of Residence. Our student ambassadors will be on hand to answer any of your questions about their experiences at Bath Spa University.


A typical day starts at 9:30h finishing about 15:30h, however, this will vary depending on the course you have applied for. Your personal programme will be sent to you before the event.

Our Applicant Visit Days are very popular and we advise that you book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Family and friends are welcome to come with you, however, we would ask that you bring no more than 2 extra people with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

I've booked an Applicant Visit Day, can I swap it for another day?

Yes – providing that there are spaces available on the date you wish to come. You can change the date of your visit using the online system you initially made your booking with.

I’ve already been to an Open Day, should I attend an Applicant Visit Day?

You don’t have to visit us again, however, many applicants find visiting us again helpful in making their minds up on which university to choose. You’ll be able to ask questions, learn more about the course you want to study, see the facilities and meet the staff and current students.

Will there be representatives from Student Support there?
