Meet the Team

The Business Liaison team at Bath Spa are responsible for brokering relationships with local, regional, national and international businesses and organisations to increase the employability prospects for the students of BSU. They do this through focused relationships with employers, so that our students can access work placements, internships, live projects, mentoring, career development opportunities and industry advice.

They work in partnership with the Careers team to deliver the best service to both students and employers.

Stephanie Winnard, Business Liaison Manager

Following a career in radio, television and film post production, Stephanie is now Business Liaison Manager at BSU. The role focuses on working with local and national employer organisations in the commercial and non-commercial sectors to seek and develop ways in which they can engage with the University. Stephanie also works on developing Business relationships to help galvanise and bring in funds to the University from research and consultancy projects.

Vanessa Doust, Business Liaison Manager

Starting her career path as a Sixth Form teacher, Vanessa’s early work experience covered education and University Liaison before spending 9 years working as a Student Recruitment Manager at KPMG. Vanessa’s role at Bath Spa University focuses on working with local and national employer organisations in the commercial and non-commercial sectors with a view to generating opportunities that enhance student employability. Vanessa has responsibility for BSU's graduate recruitment strategy.

Miranda Blofeld, Enterprise and Employer Liaison Coordinator

Miranda is one of our Business Liaison Coordinators, responsible for developing relationships internally and externally with businesses and organisations to generate placement, internship and permanent graduate opportunities. She has a background in international banking and latterly recruitment, as a consultant and in-house, and has experience of both client relationship management and and talent acquisition.

Abigail Branagan, Enterprise and Employer Liaison Coordinator

Abigail is one of our Enterprise and Employer Liaison Coordinators. She works closely with Bath School of Art and Design and is responsible for developing relationships with businesses and organisations to generate job opportunities, placements, industry projects and workspace. Abigail is a SFEDI accredited business advisor who has worked in the creative and cutural sector for over twenty years, working for organisations such as the Crafts Council and Cockpit Arts.

Rachel Jenkins, Business Liaison Assistant

Rachel joined the Business Liaison Team in July 2015. Beforehand, she was carrying out an internship within the Careers Team at The University of York.
Her role involves taking ownership of the Industry Mentoring Scheme for third year students, as well as organising opportunities for employers to have face-to-face contact with students through activities such as 'Employer in the Foyer' and Graduate Recruiter Presentations.

Jamie Bradbury, Placements Manager

Jamie has been with Bath Spa for seven years, initially as a student where he trained to be a primary school teacher. He has been working in the Placements team since it was created three years ago, and works both inside and outside of the curriculum to help students find work placements through seminars, workshops and drop-ins. He can help companies to advertise their placement opportunities and promote them to the most relevant students.

Ella Matthews, Placements Coordinator

Ella recently joined the team at the beginning of October 2015. Also a graduate of Bath Spa she has now returned to the University after working in London for the past three years. With a background in commercial industries her role involves working closely with the rest of the team to administrate all placement and internship schemes and modules.

Pandora Manton, JobShop Coordinator 

Pandora liaises with students and employers who are looking to recruit on a part time basis. She helps to provide support and guidance around securing and recruiting part time roles through the Job Shop. Pandora graduated from Bath Spa with a degree in Creative Writing and Media Communications. She has since worked in marketing, social media and student recruitment, supporting the employability agenda at City College Plymouth.

Caroline Barry, Job Shop Assistant

Caroline's first career was in Human Resources working mainly for the British Standards Institution in London. She then qualified as a primary teacher and taught in the UK and overseas in China and Myanmar. She now runs her own business - a Kumon franchise (an after school maths and English home study programme), works for a disabled lady, as well as working part-time in the Job shop at Bath Spa University assisting students finding suitable employment whilst they are studying.
