Academic Quality and Standards Committee (AQSC)
Membership
- Senior Academic nominated by the Vice-Chancellor (Chair)
- Six members, one from each school, (including the Graduate School) nominated by the Heads of Schools
- Director of Library and Information Services
- Director of Student Services and Registrar
- Representative from one partner organisation
- Two external members nominated by the Chair
- President of the Students' Union, or nominee
Terms of Reference
- To determine and implement procedures to fulfil Academic Board policy on quality assurance for programmes of study, including arrangements for the approval of new, and the review of existing programmes
- To determine and implement procedures for the assessment and examination of the academic performance of students.
- To determine and implement procedures to assure the Academic Board of the standards of University awards.
- To determine and implement procedures for the appointment and removal of internal and external examiners.
