Higher Degrees (Research) Committee
Membership
- Senior Academic nominated by the Vice-Chancellor (Chair)
- Head of Graduate School
- Five members, one from each academic school, nominated by the Heads of Schools
- Head of Library and Information Services or her representative
- Up to two external members, and up to two co-opted members nominated by the Chair, as required, on an annual basis
- One student representative nominated by research students annually
Terms of Reference
- To consider matters relating to the development of programmes of study for research degrees and research degree supervision at BSU.
- To advise, as appropriate, the Academic Board and the Vice-Chancellor.
- To consider and approve students in relation to registration, progression and related matters.
- To consider and approve examination arrangements for research degrees including mechanisms for appear and review of examiner's recommendations.
