Class 7: The Services We Offer

Advice and guidance, booklets and leaflets, transactions and media releases. A description of the services offered.

The Model Publication Scheme for Education - Universities (.pdf) states that, generally this is an extension of part of the first class of information. While the first class provides information on the roles and responsibilities of the university, this class includes details of the services which are provided by the university, internationally, nationally and locally as a result of them. It will also relate to information covered in other classes.

Prospectus

Our prospectus is published online and in print, and is updated once a year.  The print version contains brief outlines to courses, whereas the website versions contain much more details about each course, including a list of its constituent modules.

Services for Outside Bodies

The group responsible for managing the University's relationships with businesses is Business Support Services.  They offer entrepreneurship support and partnerships between staff, students and the wider community.

Course Content

The content of courses is decided by Senior Lecturers and Programme Leaders in consultation with their Head of School.  The content is then reviewed and validated by the Academic Board.  An outline of each course can be found in the printed prospectus (see above), within the courses section of the main website, and in some of the school websites.  Courses can be made up of several individual modules, which are also reviewed and validated by the Academic Board.  A list of current modules and their content can be found in the Guide to Modules, hosted within the Registry service website.  Course information published online may be updated throughout the year.  All undergraduate courses are listed on the UCAS website.  All PGCE course are listed on the GTTR website.
