What is Minerva and how can I use it in my studies?

As a teaching-led university we make sure we're right up to date with the most advanced teaching methods, and all students have access to our online virtual learning environment, 'Minerva'. Minerva allows your lecturers to send course materials, (such as handbooks, study guidance and readings) to you via the web and makes these easy for you to find. It also provides various other features such as discussion boards which allow you to have online conversations with others from your course, and lets you submit coursework electronically.

Minerva is especially useful for part-time students working away from the campus. The content of Minerva is specific to each programme and can only be accessed by participants who form part of the group. For example, a Minerva site exists for teachers and schools in a particular Local Authority, enabling tutors and teachers to communicate and access shared resources very easily. Since the site is developed alongside the project, it is generally possible to find relevant materials all within a few web pages: handbooks, study guidance, readings can all be found in named areas and folders.
