Centre for Educational Innovation and Technology (CEIT)
The Centre for Educational Innovation and Technology (CEIT) focuses on investigating and developing innovative learning and knowledge technology (LKT) pedagogical solutions that ICT resources can provide for learners as critical thinking tools. CEIT researches new ways of understanding the epistemology of LKT and proffers learning theories and CPD solutions that enable technology integration and infusion into and across the education and training curriculum. The Centre aims to broaden knowledge of theory, policy and practice within the fields of ICT education, e-Learning, e-scaffolding and knowledge elicitation systems, Communities of Practice (CoP), virtual learning and reality learning environments.
Findings from research projects and joint ventures are disseminated via the web, conferences, academic and professional publications as well as our associated MirandaNet Academy partnership project.
CEIT activities focus upon:
- collaborative and individual bids for research funding;
- the development of LKT research projects, in collaboration between members of the centre, other schools within Bath Spa University and partner organizations;
- maintaining a website to disseminate findings from the research and scholarship associated with the centre; and,
- organising occasional seminars and other CPD research events to disseminate and extend empirical practitioner and other funded research research.
