Services
Promote Your Company Directly to BSU Students
We host a weekly slot for employer presentations/workshops which provide a platform for individual companies to explore topics relevant to their business (e.g. what you look for in graduates; working within your industry sector; your company brand ; what makes a successful applicant etc.) This event is open to all current students, but is limited to a maximum of 40 people.
Bath Spa University's annual Careers, Work Placement and Volunteering Fair attracts a large number of students at all levels of study from across all subject areas of the university, including recent graduates. It provides an excellent opportunity to showcase the range of opportunities your company offers to a relevant targeted audience.
Sometimes, employers prefer to promote their businesses to students at an event on their own premises. We are delighted to work in conjunction with your company to provide an informative and rewarding experience for both yourselves and Bath Spa Students.
For further details of any of the above, please contact Rosy Williams, Employability Administrator.
Meet Your Recruitment Needs and Save Yourself Money
Our in house student recruitment service - Bath Spa University Job Shop - has thousands of students registered with the service wishing to undertake part-time work during their studies. Students undertake a wide range of degree and postgraduate degree subjects and can offer your organisation a great wealth of skills and experience. This FREE service will promote your vacancies directly to students, targeting your recruitment needs whilst cutting recruitment advertising costs.
As a guide, we recommend that full time students work no more than 15 hours per week during term time to allow for their academic studies. However, we may have part time students or postgraduates who have more free time to work longer hours. You could consider the possibility of dividing a full time vacancy into two or more part time jobs.
Find out more at our Jobshop website.
Opportunities
Offer a Student Work Placement
Employers, ranging from sole traders to multi-nationals, who have already supported placements don't just appreciate the additional pair of hands available to them, they value the fresh input, creative thinking and downright enthusiasm of our students, with mutual contributions to your own business as well as the students' own learning and professional development.
Students greatly benefit from undertaking placements or internships as part of their study. These can range from two-week placements to those spanning several months or a full year, on a full time basis or for a day or two a week. Following feedback from students and employers, highlighting the mutual benefits for such experiences, we've recently appointed a Placements Officer specifically to broker and support the needs of those involved.
If you've already identified an opportunity for one of our students or graduates, or would like help considering your options of the kinds of skills placement students could bring please do get in touch.
For further information please contact Ian Rowe, Placements Officer.
Organise an Alumni Reunion
Alumni events and reunions are a great way of meeting up with old friends and lecturers, reminiscing and finding out about news and developments of the university.
We can help you to organise your own reunion. We can give you advice on accommodation, promoting your event and help you to get in touch with old friends. Depending on the time of year we may also be able to help you arrange facilities and accommodation on campus for your event.
If you'd like to discuss arranging an alumni event then contact the Alumni Relations Office.
