Central Services

Central Services is the name given to a number of essential teams at the heart of the University's campuses. These include the Post-Room, Print-Shop, and Receptions.

Computing Services

We aim to provide students and staff with a modern network giving you access to the software and other network services that you need to study or work here. This includes student PC labs with access to course related software, technicians to help you when you are stuck and wireless networks where you can use your own PC or handheld device.

Environment

Bath Spa University educates around 5,500 students and employs almost 1000 staff across three main campuses and other satellite sites. In providing high quality educational, research and work facilities the University recognises the importance of embedding continuous environmental improvement into its business model and ethos.

Human Resources

The services that Human Resources supply include recruitment and selection, probation and promotion, staff learning and development, employee relations, staff development and review, reward management, equality and diversity, management information, employment contracts, terms and conditions of employment and human resources policies and procedures.

Information Services

Information Services is tasked with providing the best information to decision makers, to deliver the university's business goals. We are closely aligned with Computing Services, Finance, Human Resources and Student Services.

Information Services does not deal with equipment provision or issues (see Technicians Service, below, instead), fix computer or network related problems (see Computing Services, above), or deal with Library enquiries.

JOBS@bathspa is a free service which enables University Staff and Local Employers to make contact with students who are looking for work and who have the necessary skills or experience to fill the available vacancies.

Library and Information Services

The Library exists as both a physical and virtual space. This allows academic staff and students to research and study where, when and how they wish. Library staff will facilitate this by providing them with easy access to electronic, print and audiovisual resources and by helping them to become more self-sufficient in finding and evaluating the information and other services that they require for their learning.

Marketing and Public Relations

The Marketing and Public Relations Department's responsibilities relate primarily to promoting the University to potential students, influencers and stakeholders.

Oak Tree Day Nursery

Oak Tree Day Nursery provides a happy, secure, stimulating environment where children can develop to their full potential. A variety of activities are available to children that extend their experiences and enables them to experiment, explore, discover and learn through play.

Property Services

The University has two teaching sites within and around Bath. The larger campus, at Newton Park, is set in an historic landscape four miles west of Bath and is leased from the Duchy of Cornwall. The other is at Sion Hill in Bath where the University has freehold ownership of a large 1960's complex. The University also has leasehold responsibilities for premises for premises at Corsham Court, North Wiltshire.

Student Housing Services

Becoming a student may well involve you moving away from your home town for the first time. If this is the case one of the first things you will want to sort out is your accommodation.

Student Services

Student Services provides a wide range of services covering student applications and admissions through to students' on-course administration and graduation and alumni services. We co-ordinate the timetabling of courses and booking of teaching rooms and we provide advice and guidance on a wide range of welfare matters including money matters as well as providing disability support. We also produce data submissions and reports for external partners including HESA, Student Loan Company (SLC), Teaching Development Agency and the General Teaching Council.

Technicians Service

The Technicians Services is based throughout the University.  Working in tandem with Computing Services, we help the academics provide lessons, look after the laboratories and assist the administrators with their technology needs.

Writing and Learning Centre

The Centre supports learning and writing through: workshops; 1:1 appointments; bespoke subject-based services; resources on Minerva and writing and learning events.
