Living On A Green Campus
Our Newton Park and Sion Hill campuses are outstandingly beautiful and historically significant. We take our responsibilities to protect this environment very seriously, and we feel strongly that universities have an important role in achieving sustainability and reducing climate change.
We have an environmental policy that gives a commitment to continuous environmental improvement.

Living in Halls
There is a comprehensive recycling policy in place across Newton Park, including the halls of residence. All students living here are expected to support this policy, and we hope that they will continue good recycling practice when they move into private rented accommodation in years 2 and 3.
You can read about our recycling scheme, and what we have achieved already, on our Waste and Recycling page.
No Use of Animals
Teaching and research at Bath Spa University makes no use of animals other than the observation and monitoring of mammals and birds in their natural habitats for conservation purposes. We always find alternatives to the use of live or dead animals for research.
The Curriculum
Where possible we promote an awareness of the environment and best environmental practice through our courses, which reflect our concern for the natural environment, sustainable development and resource management.
