Equal Pay Review
A working group has been formed to undertake the University's first Equal Pay Review. An Equal Pay review 'compares the pay of male and female employees who are doing equal work and checks to see if there are any differences and inequalities' (EHRC Guidance 2011 - What equality law means for you as an employer: pay and benefits). Details of the members of the working group are given below.
Following discussion this first review will:
- Cover the average hourly pay of all salaried staff, split by gender
- Analyse and investigate, by grade, any gender % pay gap of over 5%
- Make recommendations to the VC of any actions to consider
The group will produce a report on its findings for the VC to consider and it is anticipated that the review will be complete by the end of the year. If you wish to have any further information please speak to one of the group members. It is hoped that part time hourly paid academic staff and casual workers, as well as other protected characteristics, will be included in future reviews.
