Work/Life Balance
It's not easy balancing the commitments of work and home. That's why we operate a number of working practices and policies designed to alleviate some of the problems that staff may encounter. Many work part-time, term time only or on a job share basis. The majority of our people also have the opportunity to work flexi-hours.
Although we can't guarantee to resolve all difficulties our staff may have, we consider ourselves a flexible and responsive employer, who wants to recruit and retain the best talent. We therefore operate a number of policies aimed at helping to achieve work/life balance, including the following:
Learning and Development
Learning and professional development plays an important role in ensuring that our staff are capable, competent and motivated to carry out their roles effectively. Some of the changes that have recently occurred include:
- A centralised training programme to meet corporate needs e.g. Management Development Programme, Customer Care Programme and Equality Training
- Investment in staff pursuing professional and post graduate qualifications linked to their work, with time off for studying
