Creating your account
- On any University computer, go to the Athens website at http://www.athens.ac.uk/.
- Click on Self-registration from the left-hand menu.
- A dialog box will appear asking for a username and password. Enter the self-registration username and password given to you at the Information Point and click Login.
- Now enter your details in the form that appears. Part 1 of
the form is compulsory.
- Username: you must create a username that is least 6 characters long. Your personal username will begin with the characters displayed to the left-hand side of the box but do not repeat them in the box. Make a note of your full username as you create it.
- Password: this must be at least 6 characters long and contain at least one letter and one character which is not a letter. Passwords are case sensitive. Choose a password you are going to be able to remember and make an immediate note of it! The password must be entered twice, as shown on the form.
- Part 2 of the form contains additional information which is optional, but which will be useful to the Library in administering your account.
- Fill in your name and e-mail details and click on Submit Details. The system will confirm that the account has been created and a email with your chosen username and password will be sent to your email address.
- Leave the Athens website. You'll only need to return should you want to change your personal details, in which case you should click on MyAthens, enter your Username and Password and then choose the relevant option.
Don't forget your username and password - only you know them! If you have any problems, email Library User Services.
