Username/password

• If you're using the Library's electronic resources from home, you might be asked for a username/password - this is exactly the same as your normal Bath Spa username/password.

• Library catalogue: use the Advanced search options to find e-books, printed journals, CDs, and DVDs.
• Electronic journals: we subscribe to over 8,500 online journal titles. Useful e-journal collections for Dance include International Bibliography of Theatre and Dance, JSTOR, & EBSCO E-journals.
• RefWorks: web-based software that allows you to store your essay references (from books, websites, e-journals), then automatically create bibliographies in all the common referencing formats (Harvard, Numeric, etc).
  

E-books

• Performing arts e-books: rapidly expanding BSU collection of over 190 books, giving you 24/7 access to some of your modules' key texts. Includes works about choreographers, dance history, performance theory, dance on film, etc. Unlike Google Books you can always access the entire book!
• Library catalogue: individual e-book titles can be accessed from the BSU library catalogue, where they are labelled as an electronic resource. Use the Advanced search option to find specific titles.
• Oxford English Dictionary: comprehensive English dictionary. An unsurpassed guide to the meaning, history and pronunciation of over half a million words through 2.5 million quotations from a wide range of international sources.

E-journals

If you're looking for a particular e-journal title, use our Find e-journals search engine. Note that a single e-journal title may be held in several different e-journal collections.

If you're looking for a particular topic or keyword, you must decide which of the following e-journal collections to search within (you cannot currently search all our e-journal collections at the same time):-

• International Bibliography of Theatre and Dance: the key online resource for BSU dance students. Includes fully searchable access to more than 160 full-text journals, including American Journal of Dance Therapy, Body, Movement & Dance in Psychotherapy, Contact Quarterly, Dance Chronicle, Dance Magazine, Dance Now, Dance on Camera Journal, Dance Research, Dance Research Journal, Dancing Times, International Journal of Performance Art & Digital Media, Journal of Dance Education, Journal of Dance Medicine & Science, PAJ: Performing Arts Journal, Research in Dance Education, TDR: Drama Review, Women & Performance, Writings on Dance. The IBTD database also holds more than 360 e-books.
• JSTOR: contains the back runs of several dance and performance journals, eg Dance Research Journal, PAJ: Performing Arts Journal, TDR: Drama Review.
  

Newspapers

• Newsbank: searchable database of national & regional UK newspapers, including The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Independent, The Bath Chronicle, etc. Great for finding dance criticism or interviews with contemporary choreographers!

Dissertations

• EThOS: free access to a rapidly increasing number of UK PhD and MPhil dissertations. You need to complete a simple registration process before you can download full-text dissertations (but you can search the database without registering).
  
• NTLTD (Networked Digital Library of Theses & Dissertations): enables you to search & download dissertations produced worldwide.
