Services to Wessex Partnership students & tutors
If you are a student or tutor in the Wessex Partnership, you are entitled to membership of Bath Spa University Library as a backup to the services available from your own college or organisational library. If you visit us, you can read any reference material including the journals and newspapers and make enquiries. For other services available when you are at Newton Park, Sion Hill or Corsham Court, please refer to our home page.
Library cards
Student cards are valid for the duration of the course, module or unit for which you have registered and paid a fee.
Loans & renewals
You are entitled to the same loan allocations as Bath Spa students and staff. Loans may be renewed up to 5 times by telephone or via the Library catalogue unless
- a hold has been put on the item by another borrower when the loan(s) should be returned to the Library as soon as possible
- the renewal limit has been reached
- any fines or other debts are outstanding or loan privileges have been withdrawn for any other reason
Your User ID is the six-figure number on your Bath Spa ID card. Your PIN is set as your birth date in six digits, e.g. birthday 17 June 1988, PIN 170688.
Messages, such as when a loan is overdue, will be sent to your Bath Spa email account.
If you are unable to return a library item in person, it may be returned by post. As you will remain responsible for the loan until it is discharged from your account, we recommend you use recorded delivery or get a certificate of posting and ensure you use the full postal address of the campus library.
Enquiries
If possible, library staff will answer brief telephone enquiries, such as checking if a particular item is on the catalogue.
Electronic services
The Library subscribes to a growing number of electronic services, many of which can be accessed from home or work. To access off the Bath Spa campuses, you need your Bath Spa username and password.
What we cannot offer:
- Books cannot be posted to borrowers
- Library staff cannot collect books from the shelves and store them for collection
- We cannot undertake lengthy telephone enquiries or check reading lists

When you phone the Library, have your student/library card number ready and be prepared to give a phone number where you can be contacted if there is a problem. Telephone renewals can only be dealt with during Library opening hours when library staff are on duty.
