Returning loans
Loans should be renewed or returned to the Library as soon as you have finished with them and no later than the due date. You can check and/or renew your loans and when they are due back on the library system.
The Library will send out emails to remind you that you have items about to become overdue and once they are overdue - this is a courtesy service only. It is your responsibility to ensure that loans are renewed or returned on time.
Newton Park, Sion Hill & Corsham Court
Loans can be returned at any time the library is open via the self-service machine. Your receipt will provide proof of return.
If you are unable to return a library item in person, you can return it by post. As you will remain responsible for the loan until it is discharged from your account, we recommend you use recorded delivery or get a certificate of posting and ensure you use the full postal address of the campus library.
Fines
If you return a loan late, you will have to pay a fine. If you do not return a loan and fines accumulate, your library borrowing privileges will be withdrawn and eventually you will be charged the full replacement costs - please do not let it get to this! If you are concerned about any debts to the Library, please come and talk to one of the staff.
Fines can be paid at the Information Point or by using the drop-boxes:
- at Newton Park, this is located to the left of the Returns machine, at the top of the ramp leading down to main library.
- at Sion Hill, this is to the left of the self-service machines
Please ask any member of library staff for assistance with using this service.
