Key Facts for Undergraduates

Study First, Pay Back When You're Earning

Tuition fees for courses at Bath Spa University are £3,290 per year in 2010. But you don't need to pay these fees in advance (unless you want to) - you can take out a "Fee Loan" to cover the cost. You won't pay this loan back until after you've left university.

Student Loans For Fees And Living Costs

On top of the "Fee Loan" you can take out a student loan to contribute to your living costs (accommodation, food, books and general living expenses). This is known as the Maintenance Loan.

Repaying Your Loans

You won't start repaying your loans until you've finished university and are earning over £15,000 a year. The Fee Loan and Maintenance Loan are combined into a single repayment.

Non-Repayable Grants

The Government provides non-repayable grants for students from lower income households. Again, the amount you're entitled to depends on your household income. You will apply for this via your primary funding provider.

Bath Spa Bursaries

We provide non-repayable bursaries worth up to £1,200 per year for students from lower income households. These bursaries are means-tested, so the amount you get depends on your household income.

Bath Spa Scholarships

Students on certain courses are entitled to scholarships worth £1,000 per year. These are not means-tested (so they're available whatever your income) and are non-repayable.
