"I've worked in the Jane Austen Centre Tea Rooms for the last 3 years whilst at BSU which has been a brilliant experience. The job is great as you have a go at everything-preparation, waiting tables and till work. I've gained a lot from working there in terms of my self-confidence and people skills.

I've enjoyed speaking to customers. I'm not an expert on Jane Austen, but it's useful to be able to relate to the variety of people/foreign tourists who visit. It's a great team, there are 6 BSU students working there, so it's very student friendly. I've been able to fit the work around my studies with such a flexible employer. As I aim to use my education degree to find an Education Officer role in a Museum/art centre, this experience will enhance my CV."
