The Trough Community Cafe Kiosk at Bath City Farm.

Laura was employed by Bath City Farm as part of a project to develop, organise and run a new cafe kiosk at the farm serving teas, coffee, cold drinks, ice- cream and snacks.

As a mature student, Laura has a wealth of previous experience in the catering industry which has been a valuable asset in her role at the farm kiosk. The skills developed within the role include being highly organised, motivated and a strong commitment to customer care. Team working skills have also been important. As the role progresses, Laura will be responsible for a wide range of volunteers who will assist with the running of the Café, therefore her supervisory skills will be further developed.

Laura very much enjoys working at the Farm Kiosk and has met some great people. It has also fitted in well with her studies. Laura hopes to work within the Charitable/voluntary sector when she graduates so the role has been a great insight into how an organisation within this sector is run.
