Childrens University

The Children's University provides children with exciting and innovative learning activities in Bath and across the Southwest.

The Children's University (CU) Trust is a charitable trust that provides 7 to 14 year olds (and 5 to 6 year olds with their families) with exciting and innovative learning activities and experiences outside normal school hours. We celebrate achievement and reward participation through our certificates. Raising children's aspirations is important to us and we aim to develop the understanding that learning can be "...a satellite navigation system to better places in life…".

We welcome all schools who would like to be part of the Children’s University and are happy to come and speak to staff and parents about the possibilities that are available.

We are already working with many local attractions and are working with the local authority to promote the use of the Bath Discovery Card to help make local learning destinations either free or heavily discounted. Bath Festivals, and all the Children’s Literature Festival workshops will be learning activities, as are productions at The Egg Theatre and some of the Theatre Royal productions.

We are keen to add as many learning destinations and activities as possible, and therefore invite clubs and venues to contact us if you have an activity which you would like to be part of Children's University.

Graduations take place in our beautiful ground here at Newton Park where children may get their first sight of how a university actually looks. Dressed in cap and gown, children will be inspired to dream of attending university when they are older.
