Why choose us for your postgraduate studies?

A long history of success

Our roots can be traced back over 160 years to the Bath Academy of Art.

We have a strong (and growing) reputation that encompasses our many Schools:

Talented staff

Engaging. Inspiring. Approachable. Responsive. We’re proud to have talented tutors and practitioners who live and breathe their field of study. They bring direct industry experience to their teaching. Most are involved in research and many are renowned in their respective fields.

Tailored study

Postgraduate study is about pursuing your passion. Whether that’s in arts, sciences, humanities, education, social sciences or business, you can develop your specialism with a broad range of courses that give you the freedom to follow your own path.

Outstanding locations

Period buildings, rolling parkland, cutting-edge creative spaces and independent shops. Despite Bath's UNESCO world heritage status, it’s anything but stuck in the past. This is a contemporary, dynamic, intimate city – small but perfectly formed. And if you ever miss the bustle of the big city, you’re just a 15-minute train ride from Bristol and 90 minutes from London.

Many of our postgraduate students study at Corsham Court, situated in historic Corsham, just 10 miles from Bath. Corsham is known for its period architecture, independent shops, and picturesque countryside setting at the edge of the Cotswolds.

Strong support network

With tutors on-hand when you need them and advice every step of the way, a supportive, caring spirit is at the heart of everything we do. For guidance on anything from your wellbeing to medical care, turn to our Student Wellbeing Services team.

Modern, specialist facilities

Inspiring, fresh-faced buildings. Vibrant collaborative spaces. Well-stocked libraries and state-of-the-art technology. You’ll have access to everything you need to study at the highest level. Plus, our campuses offer great places to eat and drink, performance and creative spaces, all with an eco-friendly ethos.

International outlook

We’re part of a global community. We’re continually reaching out and forging links with organisations from around the world through, for example, our GALA network. At the same time, we welcome international students from across the globe.

Work-life balance

We understand that many of our applicants value their work-life balance.

Depending on your course, you can often pursue your postgraduate degree part-time, or adapt your modules and learning around current employment. We'll work with you to get the most out of your postgraduate degree.

Security

Bath is renowned for being a safe place to live. We're committed to the safety and wellbeing of everyone in the Bath Spa community. We provide a 24/7 security service – including emergency response, first aid, and comprehensive CCTV coverage – every day of the year.

Space to flourish

Our campuses offer the best of both worlds – easy access to beautiful countryside and the best of the city. Each campus makes for an inspiring setting for postgraduate study.

Where will you study?

Corsham Court is our main campus for classroom-based postgraduate courses such as Creative Writing. Business postgrads will be able to take advantage of our cutting-edge facilities at Newton Park.

Art and Design Students will be based at Sion Hill or Locksbrook Campus. Check the key facts section of your chosen course's page to find out more.
