Why go to university?

We know that going to University is a life-changing decision. Here are five great things you could gain if you do (your degree aside).

1. Study a subject that you're passionate about

While you can get a job without a degree, it may not be in an area you're truly passionate about. At Bath Spa, we nurture your talent. Our flexible courses will help you turn your passion into profession.

2. Get access to world-class facilities

At University, you'll get full access to a range of world-class facilities. Whether you're based in a lab or a studio, our expert technicians will give you full training on all our equipment. What's more, in September 2019 we'll open the doors to our new Locksbrook Road campus which will be a home to our Art and Design courses.

3. Expand your career choices

Employers often want to see work experience. Our Careers team will give you links to employers and opportunities to network and even start your own business. You can also do a Professional Placement Year as part of your degree.

4. Experience new cultures and discover the world

By coming to University, you'll become a global citizen. You can learn new languages, visit amazing places and make friends all over the globe with our international opportunities. Hear what a great time our students have had in this short video.

5. Have the best time while making friends for life

At University, you can experience life away from home and make amazing friends for life. We'll give you opportunities to grow in ways you never imagined. Get involved with one of our 80 interest societies, try a new sport, or become a student rep with our Students' Union.

Hear it from our students!

Ryan, our current SU president and Bath Spa graduate, didn't see the value of going to University. But coming to our campus for an Open Day changed his mind. Watch this short video to find out why he decided to come to University, and what opportunities this has opened for him.
