Questions about life at Bath Spa?

Questions about studying and living at Bath Spa? We answer some of the questions we often get asked on the Clearing hotline.

If you’re applying to Bath Spa through Clearing then you’ve probably got lots of questions about what it’s like to study and live in Bath.

Please feel free to ask questions during your call to the Clearing hotline – we want to help you make the decision that’s right for you. And, of course, we love talking about how great it is at Bath Spa!

Here are some of the questions that we’re often asked.

Can the University help me find accommodation?

All students who accept a place at Bath Spa through Clearing are guaranteed an offer of accommodation - as long as you apply by 1 September. Find out more on our Clearing Accommodation webpage.

Are there any scholarships or bursaries that I could apply for?

Does the University have links to local employers?

Bath Spa has close links with many local employers, and the Careers Team host events and workshops throughout the year to help connect you with employers, develop your skills, hear from industry experts and explore different career paths. Many of our courses include seminars and talks from industry professionals and all of our degrees have been designed so that you will graduate with a wealth of practical skills that are valued by employers.

Can I do work experience or a placement as part of my course?

You can do a short work experience placement as part of your degree course, or all of our courses offer the opportunity to take a Professional Placement Year (PPY) between your second and third year. Find out more about the benefits of taking a PPY from one of our students

Your health and wellbeing is important to us, and we have a dedicated Student Wellbeing Services team who can offer information and advice on all kinds of issues, from money worries, to accessibility and disability issues, to questions around gender identity. There is support available 24/7. We even have a team of Care Dogs that just love to have cuddles with our students.

What’s it like living in Bath?

Life in Bath is great! Bath is famous for its history, but there’s so much more to the city than that. There’s buzzing nightlife, fantastic food and drink, quirky independent shops and big high-street names, eclectic entertainment venues, and festivals galore. And Bath has been ranked as the second safest city in the UK for students

How easy is it to get from the campus to the city centre?

Buses run regularly between the city centre and both the Newton Park and Locksbrook Campuses so it’s easy to get around, and everything is just a short ride away. Bath also has great transport links to cities such as Bristol, Cardiff and London.

Is there an opportunity to visit the campus?

We have Talk and Tour events running on 18 and 19 August. These will give you the chance to visit the campus and ask any questions. Places are available to book now
