In this one-day masterclass with experienced printmaker Jane Shaw, you'll experience the various techniques of relief printing, using linocut, embossing, woodcut, and wood engraving to achieve a piece of art to take home.

About your tutor
Jane has worked in London and Bath as a freelance illustrator and artist for over 25 years. She has worked in further and higher education and is now combining her independent freelance work with the position of Printmaking Technical Demonstrator at Bath Spa University.
What you'll do
You'll experience the different techniques of relief printing:
- Wood engraving.
The course will take place in the Etching and Lithography department, Sion Hill campus.
The fee for this course in 2019 will be updated here soon. The fee for the programme in 2018 was £70 inclusive of printing materials.
What to bring
Bring an apron for protect your clothes, and if you have long hair, this must be tied back for safety reasons.
You'll also need an image to work from, and/or a sketchbook, notebook, pencils, and an A3 portfolio or folder to take your work home.
You can bring your own lunch, or eat at Café Sion. Light refreshments are provided.
