In this masterclass, world-renowned filmmakers Sir Roger and James Deakins will discuss scenes from their most famous films, including Sicario, Blade Runner 2049 and The Shawshank Redemption.

Followed by a Q&A, answering questions posed in the session chat.

About the Deakins

Sir Roger and James Deakins are well known for their collaborative work on a range of films including Skyfall, No Country For Old Men and The Shawshank Redemption. Over the past year they have produced the podcast Team Deakins, an incredible series of interviews discussing the film business from both sides of the camera.

Sir Roger is a Bath Spa alumnus, having studied at Bath Academy of Art from 1967 to 1971. He was further awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Bath Spa University in 2019 in recognition for his significant contribution to film and television. He has won the Oscar for Best Cinematography twice – in 2018 for Blade Runner 2049, and in 2020 for 1917.
