I joined Bath Spa from being a full-time lecturer on undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the London College of Music and Media, Thames Valley University (now University of West London). I bring experience from an industry background in print and interactive design, to the current courses that I teach. I've been at the School of Art and Design since 2004.
In addition to teaching, I am a practicing artist and interactive designer. My work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Examples of which are on my website.
In 2004 I co-wrote, '3D for the Web', internationally published by Focal Press. The book covered the subject of 3D computer animation and it's possibilities for use with the internet. This is a practical book on how to prepare animated 3D content for web purposes, and discusses many new techniques and concepts for interactive 3D animation, developed by myself and my co-author, Carol MacGillivray.
I have a varied research interested linked by the common theme of data. I use data in my creative art and design practice, which is often interactive and utilised my knowledge of realtime 3D graphics. See publications and websites below for more information.
I am the Creative Director of Illuminate, a multidisciplinary projection and light event and also curate the MediaWall at Bath Spa University (a portrait shaped wall of 30 screens).

- Director of Anthony Head Limited.
My teaching focuses Digital Art and Interactive Design, with subject expertise in Interactive 3D computer work.
I was Creative Director of IlluminateBath that ran in 2010, and January 2012, lighting up the city of Bath with digital projections and installations. . New Illuminate 2015 is coming to Bath in January.
I have been researching, curating and creating work for the MediaWall at Bath Spa University.
I have a keen interest in experimental media and promote the exploration of designing for new devices using computers.
My long-term research is based on a collaborative project to develop real-time immersive painted environments - http://www.lightyearsprojects.org. This has led to many exhibitions both nationally and internationally.
Another area of interest is in real-time 3D computer graphics.
