Personal statement

Emily is a lecturer in Primary English; she teaches on the PGCE and EYITT post-graduate teacher training routes. She also lectures in Professional Studies and leads CPD in Primary Schools.

Having completed a Masters in Education which explored gender gaps in primary writing attainment, she is currently working on a research project which investigates the representations of marginalised groups in children’s books.

Her research interests include: equality in educational attainment; international perceptives on reading and early literacy, alongside participatory research methodologies.

Before joining Bath Spa, Emily worked as a teacher in South Gloustershire.
