Gareth Pearse

Personal statement

Gareth has worked at Bath Spa University since July 2017, when he joined Student Wellbeing Services, from his previous role in Student Support at University Centre Weston.

Gareth is responsible for the operational management and leadership of Student Wellbeing Services; ensuring consistent provision of and access to high quality advice and guidance for students, staff, external agencies and partners.

He leads on the services' outreach activities including digital platforms and applications, open days, applicant visit days, awareness raising events and the deployment of an effective marketing and communications strategy.

Gareth provides guidance to colleagues across the University regarding complex student and wellbeing issues, including students at risk, taking the lead and coordinating support where necessary.

Gareth is also an accredited member of the National Association of Student Money Advisers (NASMA) and a former Executive Board member, where he served as Vice Chair Communications for two years. Gareth also represented the South West Region, as the Regional Chair, for the same period. He has a specialist knowledge in this area.
