Harry Watts’ role as Student Governor is to support and advise the University Board on decisions affecting students, staff and the University. His main contribution will be to bring student insight to board discussions and debates. Harry is a confident speaker having delivered presentations to over 1,000 prospective students and parents at his school's open evening. He has also been interviewed live on BBC local radio, once with the Royal Commonwealth Society of which he is a member.
Qualifications and experience
Harry was educated at Monks Walk School in Hertfordshire, passing his GCSEs and A-Levels before deciding to study Geography at Bath Spa University. In August 2021 Harry successfully completed his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Following his passion for geography outside of university, Harry travelled to India in 2019 with World Challenge, trekking in the Himalayan mountains and carrying out charity work in Leh, Northern India. He has also undertaken fieldwork in Iceland.
Other external roles
Harry’s other roles include being the Senior Academic Representative for the School of Sciences and he is also a Tennis Coach and Committee member of the BSU Tennis Society. Harry is also a member of the Global Citizenship Programme.
