I currently teach with the Education Studies team and have worked extensively with the Primary Science team on the Primary PGCE. Teaching is a passion of mine and I can draw upon ten years’ teaching and leading science in UK primary schools. My interest in teachers’ learning has also taken me to the Universidad de Deusto in Bilbao and the Universitat de Manresa, Catalunya. I speak fluent Spanish and am happy to help colleagues with translation.
I am currently studying a PhD that examines how ideas to change assessment practice in primary science are disseminated to teachers and then enacted within schools.
I am also interested in the application of outdoor learning to improve learning outcomes for children at school. I developed a framework for teaching and improving writing through outdoor learning as part of my Masters and have written two books on this topic.
