Jazz Nesbitt-Larking

Personal statement

Jazz was elected Students' Union President March 2019. Her main role at the University is to bridge the gap between students and staff, ensuring that the student voice is heard. She will bring the student perspective to the Board of Governors to aid in decision making and to ensure students are at the heart of all decisions.

Jazz studied BA Music at Bath Spa (2016-2019) specialising in jazz vocals and took part in many extracurricular activities over her 3 years. She studied abroad in Montana, USA for a semester as part of the Study Abroad programme and represented Bath Spa’s music department in Brazil when she attended a 2 week summer school in September 2018. She was Vice President of the Cheerleading Society and Social Secretary for Bath Spa Snowsports. She has also worked part time in many different jobs in Bath, most recently as a singing teacher at a local stage school.

Her broad participation during her time at University has given her insight into several different aspects of University not just the academic side. Her experience at Bath Spa means that Jazz is well-placed to contribute as a member of the Board of Governors.
