Nick graduated in 2007 where he won the prestigious Gold Award at Graduate Fashion Week with his ‘British Eccentricity’ knitwear collection.
For the next nine years, he worked as a fashion knitwear designer in both the luxury and high-street sectors, including time overseas, for brands including Alfred Dunhill, John Smedley and Next.
Informed by his MA, Nick has since developed a research-led practice that explores the notion of a ‘shared creative experience’. He strives to raise awareness of inclusive practices within art and design by developing tactile tool-kits that engage audiences with materials and the making process itself.
Drawing on his extensive industry experience, Nick will provide a contemporary context to the Constructed specialism, with a particular focus on yarn and materials for knitted textiles.
