I am currently a Lecturer in Criminology at BSU, having previously taught at the University of Portsmouth (2013-2016), and University of Surrey (2012-2013). My teaching experience is eclectic, and includes the areas of forensic criminology, criminal justice, offender profiling, and research methods. I spent two years working with offenders as a Programmes Facilitator in the Probation Service, which often informs my practice within academia.
My doctoral research explores the conceptual issues surrounding the aetiology and management of female violent offending within the context of British night-time economy, and is methodologically grounded within the tradition of urban ethnography. My current research interests also include offender profiling, and probation practice in managing dangerous offenders in light of the Transforming Rehabilitation agenda.
