Cody's international story

The experience was utterly life-changing in every way possible, and I'm a totally different person to who I was when I left for Sweden. I met a beautiful bunch of international students who all had something brilliant to bring to the group! I even learnt a little bit of Swedish when I was out there. It was an incredible experience, and I couldn't be happier that I took the opportunity.

Where did you travel to?

Stockholm, Sweden

Which institution did you attend?

Stockholm University

What made you choose it?

I went to do my Erasmus+ program in Stockholm, the capital city of Sweden. I decided to go because I wanted to expand my awareness of the world around me, including other cultures. Being in an international environment the whole time really did fulfill this desire.

What were your goals?

I wanted to expand my awareness of other cultures, keep my degree fresh and exciting, whilst also keeping me from taking Bath for granted. I feel that it was extremely valuable having some time away from Bath in order to appreciate it when I came back.

What did you learn?

The experience was utterly life-changing in every way possible, and I'm a totally different person to who I was when I left for Sweden. I met a beautiful bunch of international students who all had something brilliant to bring to the group! I even learnt a little bit of Swedish when I was out there. Overall, it was an incredible experience, and I couldn't be happier that I took the opportunity.

"I would recommend an international experience because ..."

The experience was utterly life-changing for me. My best advice is - don't worry. Don't worry about funding, don't worry about loved ones back home, don't worry about anything, and don't let anything stop you from taking this opportunity by the horns! Just go for it.
