Jeffrey's Bath Spa story
I first had the opportunity to study at Bath Spa in the autumn of 2014. I was able to do a semester abroad here from my University back in America. After completing that and going home I realized that Bath is such a beautiful and wonderful place and it's where is wanted to be, and transferred here to complete my degree in Psychology.
I enjoy the course work at Bath Spa, although the differences from the American system of education is challenging. There is a much deeper focus here as to the breadth of focus back home. I have had many different discussions on the pros and cons of both structures of education, and have been able to find both positive and negative factors in each. I believe that being able to exist in and learn from both methods had given me a far more rounded outlook into how to accomplish my goals.
Being an international student in a country where you don't have to learn a new language has had more cultural differences that I had ever realized. I try to describe living here as living in an alternate universe where everything is just a little bit different. Nothing major, nothing glaring, but many different little everyday things. It’s such an ineradicable experience not only to be able to attend university here but to do it alongside so many other international students with different cultures and views and experiences gives me so much more insight into the world around me and lets me see and do things I never would have otherwise.
"It’s such an incredible experience not only to be able to attend university here but to do it alongside so many other international students with different cultures, views and experiences."
