Matt Dicken

Personal statement

Matt is a PhD student and associate lecturer at Bath Spa University. His research focuses on the Paraguayan polka in the fields of ethnomusicology and musicology. Matt works as a guitar teacher at Bath Spa University and Badminton School in Bristol, and performs in a wide range of musical projects.

Research overview

Matt's research project traces the migration of the polka to Paraguay, and explores how young people in Paraguay identify with the polka as a musical influence.
