Sian's story

After studying at Bath Spa, I spent several years in the acting circuit until I was offered an opportunity in presenting.
I was eventually offered full time presenting work for local TV (Made Television) and learnt a large variety of skills along with presenting and producing a two hour live show, aired every weeknight.
I now present for It’s On Cardiff and work for Wordley - a production company in Cardiff.

"The best thing about the course is the variety of skills on offer. Voice coaching and singing, to movement, comedy and stage combat. The range of classes allows you to unleash talents you didn't even know you had."

Qualifications, experience, and achievements

  • BA (Hons), Acting - Bath Spa University
  • BASSC (British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat) - Rapier and Dagger and Unarmed Combat.
  • Presented and produced live TV shows such as The Lowdown, The Crunch, and the Cardiff Lifestyle Awards.

Why did you choose the BA Acting course at Bath Spa?

I chose the course after attending the audition day. I still had to perform monologues, as with other drama schools, but the whole day spent there gave me a richer experience and the vibe of the whole campus was electric from entering the theater to leaving the site.

"I am most proud of..."

The Crunch, a two-hour live magazine show on local TV station Made in Cardiff, is my biggest success to date. I happened to co-produce and present with a very old friend of mine who became my 'tv husband', and we now still present local events together as we're a recognised duo in Cardiff.

"I recommend Bath Spa because..."

I recommend Bath Spa because the campus and city itself is lovely before you even reach the courses. The atmosphere is incredibly friendly and there is endless support on offer! They will push you to achieve the best of you that you possibly can be and you really feel a sense of achievement after your years at Bath Spa.

I will always remember the support I received from both members of staff and my fellow students. There are elements of the course that perhaps you aren't good at, that scares everyone at different times, which allows everyone to be incredibly supportive from the start. No one judges!
