Since completing her degree, Victoria has been working as a Marketing and Customer Communications Executive for SchoolComms.
Victoria's Bath Spa story
Since I left Bath Spa, I have been working as a Marketing and Customer Communications Executive for four months. I saw an advert for this job in March whilst I was still studying but thought I would apply anyway as I really liked the sound of the company and the job role sounded perfect for me. I was absolutely over the moon to be offered the job and was able to start this role on a part time basis whilst still finishing off my degree. I have now been working at Schoolcomms since April, and feel very lucky to have secured a graduate job before even graduating!
Bath Spa careers helped me re-write my CV and cover letter for a work experience position I secured at Immediate Media in London. Not only did that help me gain amazing work experience within the Publishing industry, this also gave me a really strong CV that could be adapted to different applications.
"Never think that you shouldn’t apply for a role because you don’t fit the ‘specification’, a company might see something in you that they love."
''My advice for current students is ...''
Never think that you shouldn’t apply for a role because you don’t fit the ‘specification’, a company might see something in you that they love, and never considered that they needed. All job application/interview experience is useful even if you’re unsuccessful.
''The best thing about the course I studied was ...''
Was the unique combined courses on offer. I had never considered a degree in Publishing and initially came to Bath Spa to study English Literature. I am really thankful that I was introduced to Publishing in my first year as it enabled me to broaden my career prospects by combining my degree to make it both academic and practical.
