Theresa Lloyd

Personal statement

Theresa Lloyd is a philanthropy expert and leading consultant in strategic planning, fundraising and governance in the non-profit sector.

Following a City career, she worked as a senior fundraising director with Save the Children and as the UK Director of ActionAid UK. In 1995 she gained a Diploma in Art History and set up her consultancy.

Theresa was the Founder Director of Philanthropy UK (2001-04).

She has written:

  • A Guide to Giving (2003)
  • Why Rich People Give (2004)
  • Cultural Giving (2006) and
  • Richer Lives (2013) with Dr Beth Breeze.

Theresa has been a member of several boards and committees in the arts, health, international development, higher education and philanthropy sectors.

She currently chairs an endowed trust awarding scholarships for PhD scholars in the field of human rights.
