The Music and Performing Arts Research Centre
The Music and Performing Arts Research Centre is interdisciplinary and works across all aspects of music and the performing arts, connecting with work in related disciplines such as creative computing, education, game studies, creative writing, history, visual arts and media. It enables academic staff and research students to collaborate through funded projects and focused research groups.
Since 2008, our researchers have hosted projects funded by external bodies, including the European Research Council, Arts and Humanities Research Council, Higher Education Academy, and REACT.
The School’s Performing Arts research areas are multi-disciplinary, looking at the impact of the arts on social change, the environment and notions of humanity. Research blends applied, interdisciplinary and professional practice.
This area works across the three main groups below.
With such a abroad and exciting range of research activity, Bath School of Music and Performing Arts is a great place to undertake study for a research degree. You can find out more on our music and performing art research degrees page.
